Makenna Koslosky

Dr. Makenna Koslosky grew up in the central valley of California. She went to her first vet appointment at five years old and immediately knew she’d grow up to be a veterinarian. At thirteen, she started working at a hospital as a kennel assistant. She continued to work in hospitals up until she graduated veterinary school (with the occasional side job like a lift operator at Squaw Valley or a dog boarding behaviorist). She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2019 in Veterinary Sciences. Only a few months later, she started studying at Washington State University and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May 2023. Dr. Koslosky’s journey in veterinary medicine has been anything but ordinary. She dedicated much of her time to student government and leadership, business management, and marine mammal medicine and conservation.

Dr. Koslosky is joining the East Springs Animal Hospital team in July 2023. She is thrilled to join the team and eager to start her career in Colorado Springs! Her primary interests include small animal surgery, dentistry, and sports medicine. However, she enjoys prioritizing client relationships and strives to create an experience just as comfortable and fear-free as she does for their pets.

When she is not caring for animals, Dr. Koslosky enjoys crocheting, gardening, camping, racquet sports, and tinkering with her 1966 convertible Mustang. Being outside rejuvenates her spirit and allows her to approach her profession with a refreshed perspective. Even with her many hobbies, she’s always willing to try something new. She’d love to hear about you and your pet’s hobbies!
