Certified Veterinary Technician
Kristi
I was born and raised in Canon City, Colorado. My maternal great-grandparents homesteaded a ranch 11 miles out of town in 1888. I am proud to say I’m a 3rd generation Coloradoan on both sides of my family. We lived about 6 miles outside of Canon City, so I was exposed to a variety of animals my entire childhood. I worked at a veterinary clinic right out of high school and considered becoming a certified veterinary technician at that time. Instead, I got an A.A.S. degree in Electronics Technology and worked for many years in the semiconductor industry. As that industry has shrunk, I needed to find another career.
We finally got a school for veterinary technology in Colorado Springs so I decided to pursue my first love (so to speak) and went back to school. I worked as a Vet Tech Assistant the entire time I was attending college and when I finished school and passed my Certification test I started working here at East Springs Animal Hospital. I’ve been here almost 3 years now. I have a large tabby cat who bosses my husband around and rules my house. My favorite pastime outside of work is golf and reading.
