Dr. Johnathon Watry was born in Okinawa, Japan and raised all over the West Coast including Hawaii and Alaska. After discovering his passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Watry received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2011. Following additional years of experience as a vet tech in Hawaii and Intern at the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Texas, he obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2018. During veterinary school, he worked at the Pre-Clinical Surgical Research Lab at CSU, to help advance the field of human medicine through ethical use of large and small animal models. 

Dr. Watry then moved to the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked as an associate at a high-volume, small animal practice. He continued to hone skills in his areas of passion which include surgery, endoscopy, preventative and internal medicine. While providing quality patient care, he strives to up hold his core values of client communication and gold-standard medicine due to the ever-changing field of vet-med. 

 In 2022, he married his best friend, Dr. Brittany Jermalovic who is also a practicing veterinarian in small animal medicine. After 5 years in the arid climate, Dr. Watry and his wife decided to call the mountains home and settle in Colorado Springs. He joined the wonderful team of East Springs Animal Hospital and continues to provide ongoing patient care for your beloved pets.
