Dr. Hunter Kothenbeutel is an associate veterinarian at East Springs Animal Hospital, beginning in May 2026. Originally from Maryland, he spent his first 5 years after graduation practicing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he worked in a high-volume walk-in clinic managing general practice, urgent care, and emergency cases. He has also spent the past 4+ years working as an ER relief veterinarian in New Mexico and Colorado, further strengthening his skills in fast-paced, critical environments. Dr. Hunter has a strong professional interest in emergency and critical care medicine as well as surgery. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys exploring Colorado’s outdoors and can often be found hiking or running local trails. He and his wife Lindsey have a menagerie of pets including 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 koi fish, and a rabbit.
