Emily Kleinert

Dr. Emily Kleinert grew up on a small farm in Northeast Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia with an associate’s degree in musical theatre. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she worked as a veterinary assistant in several veterinary hospitals. Dr. Kleinert then received her doctorate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. During veterinary school, she worked at the University of Georgia Department of Infectious Disease, researching equine anthelmintics and heartworm disease.

Although she grew up around a variety of large animals, Dr. Kleinert enjoys working with small animals. After graduating from Veterinary school, Dr. Emily Kleinert worked in a fast-paced small animal general practice hospital in Las Vegas, NV until transitioning into Emergency Medicine. Although she still enjoys a fast-paced hospital, Dr. Kleinert decided to move closer to the mountains of Colorado Springs and join a community-based practice where she can provide ongoing care and support for family pets.

Dr. Kleinert is fascinated by many areas of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in surgery, neurology, physical rehabilitation and preventative medicine. She greatly enjoys the investigative process of finding the proper diagnosis and determining the best plan of treatment to get her patients back on their feet and reunited with their loving families.

Outside of our hospital, Dr. Emily Kleinert stays busy by trying out new baking recipes, painting, traveling, and spending time with her two beloved dachshunds Leo & Oscar.
